What I Do

• I operate as a hybrid entre/intrapreneur: I am all about solutions – and I consistently zero in on an org’s greatest challenges (often the ones that don't fall within any one specific team/division/discipline) to devise the best possible solutions that benefit everyone affected.
• I believe that every relationship is a consultative one: to fully understand an org's challenges and to develop successful, long-term solutions, numerous broad, deep, and thorough conversations need to happen.
• I am an innate maker and creator: I love making manifest good, useful, and valuable things that had not previously existed.

I have had the pleasure of bringing about good things on behalf of global Fortune 500 brands, small companies, start-ups, quirky entrepreneurs, and mom-and-pop shops.

Projects include:
• Re-defining the business model for some of the highest-trafficked entertainment sites on the internet, driving 2.0b+ in revenue
• Re-designing and implementing the strategies that doubled an employer's client billings in one year
• Laying the groundwork for the double-digit growth of one of the nation's largest cell carriers
. . . to name a few.

I have also served as a co-founding leader for three start-ups at the crossroads of Digital, Media and The Arts. As such - I am well-versed in navigating the start-up landscape (and have taken my fair share of licks along the way).

 
 

My Roots: Boy Detective

As a kid, I tore through every Encyclopedia Brown book I could get my hands on. Like E.B., I found great satisfaction in the process of problem-solving. I reveled in the learning and growth that it necessitated . . . and the fact that I could help others in the process.

Fortunately - I was surrounded by family, educators and a community that nurtured my innate curiosity. So - by the time I left university with my Business degree in hand, my plan was clear: I wanted to apply my skills and passion to organizations and industries ripe for change. It was there that I could identify the opportunities, develop the necessary strategies and implement positive change.

I am fortunate. I am living the career that I mapped out. One that is unconventional, varied and wide-ranging.

I have had the opportunity to constantly learn, stretch and grow.

With a lever and a place to stand, I get to define and implement innovative, sustainable and positive solutions.

 
 

Collaboration and Creativity

I take a somewhat non-traditional approach to my work.

This approach starting to come into being when I was 10 - the age that I began performing in choirs and playing the trumpet in the school band.

Since then, I’ve gone on to add more instruments to my repertoire (first, the french horn - followed by guitar, harmonica, percussion and drums). I am also a songwriter and a music producer.

To be successful, I have developed a specific mind-set.

Whether work-shopping a melody, performing live in a club or working with clients in the studio - collaboration is essential for success. To successfully collaborate, one must - at all times - remain open and in-tune to the situation and their surroundings, have empathy for others and accommodate / adjust in real time.

This sensitivity, awareness and adaptability allows me to bring a unique perspective to my Strategy and Operations work.

This dexterity allows me to pick up on the details, nuances and possibilities that might pass others by.

This is the special sauce that allows me to drive the sort of positive, sustainable change that might not otherwise be possible.

Presented with the PRESIDENT'S DISTINGUISHED PERFORMANCE AWARD "given to those few whose performance is consistently stellar" - AOL's highest honor.

• Created and iterated organization-spanning teams, strategies, tactics, tools, and best practices that powered revenue growth from $600 Million to $2 Billion annually.

• Innovated operationally-focused strategies and tactics that drove $150+ million of incremental annual revenue within the first six months in a new role.

• Hired, trained and stewarded the growth & profitability of a team of Business and Marketing Strategists; grew annual billings from $50 million to over $100 million in two years.

Expanded client-list 4x for a newly launched start-up within the first 18 months of operation.

• Conceptualized, designed and implemented industry-leading, digitally-based RFP systems; streamlined internal workload by 50%.
